This buck was taken on a hunting ranch in Wisconsin

The ranch has a genetics program and they basically grow big bucks for hunters to harvest, they have taken dozens of bucks that score over 200 inches off of the ranch over the years.
I live 10 miles from the 160,000 acre Kentucky Lake, and the 57,000 acre Barkley Lake is within 25 miles of my house. I live 10 miles from 220,000 acres of Water.

A lot of corn fed deer from the midwest get pretty big, if they are given the chance. But, usually when you see a total cow, it came from canada. So if they say that deer came from anywhere other than canada, I would definately agree that it was some kind of pen raised deer, that had an unlimited supply of high protein feed. Thats what happens when deer dont have to travel to find food and mate, and they have an endless buffet of meat and taters.

Got this in a Field and stream newsletter:

Hurteau: 420-Pound Buck Was Killed On Game Farm | Field & Stream

Nice deer - but was it actually hunting? I don't think so. More like target practice IMHO. Oh well, to each his own.

Do the rule's for P&Y and B&C allow a deer taken from a High fenced operation to qualify for Trophy status?

Something is not right. I have been hunting a long time, and watch every hunting show known to man. 400 lbs. white tail deer in Main, no way ! Moose maybe. send more pics so that I can get to the bottom of this.

It was shot on a game farm in Wisconsin. This harvested buck was bred on the same farm as Sudden Impact, an absolute marvel in what man can do with buck genetics.

It was then shot on their high fence farm, for a pretty penny i'm sure. Not real hunting IMO. I don't think you will find deer like that running around Maine.

And no, high fence deer do not qualify for the record books.

Yep, high fence hunting just ain't right! I don't see how they can even call themselves hunters.

I agree Bigby.....where's the sport in setting behind a fenced in pen waiting for a patterned buck to pass you by... Did you see what they get to shoot one of these deer...WOW
