I haven't seen a buck since last January, but it was a good one.

We are going back this coming January and my daughter is going with us. Hopefully she can see a nice one.
Oh and here is a pic of another deer that came out of the same area.

Man, all of those buck are GREAT deer. J. Laughlin, those are some serious racks, especially for the deep south, your buck looks like a 140+ class deer.. What are yall feeding those buggers down there in LA..... Congrats to all you guys, I have seen some nice ones so far this year but still haven't seen hide nor hair of the big one Im after on my farm. Probably was one of the bucks I found left laying on our place last thursday with its antlers cut off. That is six deer that have been poached off my farm this year, two of em bucks with the antlers cut off. NONE of them had been eaten, all left laying. I have had the CO and sheriff out there twice this year and after finding that one thursday I think we are gonna give those poachers the chance to bag them a nice robo deer. I have been hunting a HUGE nontyp on my place, hes been ther for a while, and I pray that he isn't one of the two bucks that I found laying there. Congrats to all you guys, Im still eating tag soup but ML season is back in this weekend and lasts one week. I usually have better luck late season anyways when I can hunt feeding areas. Good luck fellas and be safe.

ek, both of those deer come from Lake Ophelia NWR. They only have a few weeks of Bow every year, and they do 3 muzzleloader hunts per year, 3 hunts, 300 picked for each hunt, 1 deer allowed per hunter. And normally about 75% if the hunters picked, show up. So it isn't hunted really hard. The reserve is just off the Red River, all hardwood bottomland filled with nutrients for them. I love that place cause we don't have much accessable land like that down here where I live. As for scoring it, I haven't had it officially scored yet, fixing to try and get that done. And I hope yall catch the ones that are poaching around your place.
