Me too--Yes U are sure doing a good thing. The bathroom looks like it was added to the building in later years, that house must be 90 some years old, had no potty nor hot water... U say your're getting tax free status hmnn does this mean tax deduct for donations?? not trying to be nosey but heck if we vets all sent some $(say $5.00 or) to U well maybe that would help as we can't be there to spill paint............

note maybe some sponsors would donate some for prizes or to be raffled off.? The house will be for our vets & troops right?

I am waiting for the Tax Free number and yes the house will be used for Soldiers and Disabled Veterans as well. All for either hunting for free or just to get away from it all and go out to the country and maybe drink a cold one or whatever they want to do. All the bills are in my name and I am paying all out of my pocket. The raffle sounds pretty neat.

Got the living room painted yesterday evening but still need to paint the baseboards, widows, and trim around the door and window. Headed to the VA in Amarillo today and then to Lowes or Home Depot to price either sheetrock or wood for the bathroom. The Bathroom has 1/4" sheetrock (CAN YOU BUY THAT ANYMORE). Some of the sheetrock in the bathroom is so old that it has pulled off the nails. I was amazed with our US Mail system. I sent the payment for the Soldier House Friday from Paducah to Odessa, Texas and she had it Saturday. I sent it regular snail mail too. Talking about QUICK. Looks like I will be getting a sign to put in front of it. This is what it will look like except it will have "Hunting With Soldiers House" on it.

WOOHOO finished painting the living room. Now have to fix the sheetrock in the bathroom. When they put that up, they taped over it with DUCK tape and painted over it. I will be taking all that off, taping and bedding it and texturing it. Should be putting the roof on the bathroom and bedroom on Saturday.

What your doing is awesome and I commend you and your wife doing it and I'm sure that God has a special place in heaven for you.

Thanks. I have a guy that does screen printing that is going to make it and donate it. Having some folks over tomorrow and we will be putting the metal roof on the bedroom and bathroom sides of the house. I will be smoking a brisket as well and the wife is cooking beans, potatoe salad and making a banana pudding. mmmm All are donating their time so the least I can do is feed them.
