Believe it or not, we've caught our share of bass, white & yellow perch, trout and pickerel over the main deep water basins. If I were targeting bass or picks I'd certainly hit the shallow bays which are totally weed infested at this time of the year. However, it's crappie that are always our target species, so we make an effort to avoid those areas. It's amazing to me that you can catch multi-species side pulling - fast - over deep water. But it happens quite frequently to us.
