    Default Oconee tonight

This will be my first time on Oconee. Should be fun. Meeting one or two other boats there. Gonna tie up, drop the lights and hit the crappie. Will report back tomorrow.

Two boats. Put in at Long Shoals Ramp. Fished basically only two spots, both up towards the timber in Richmond Creek. We arrived around 8:30 and fished until around 3:30. The boat I followed dropped about a 5-6 ft. green glowing light which really brought in the bait fish.

My boat (my son and I) landed a total of around 15, including three cats. We kept 9 of the crappie. The other boat (three people in it) probably wound up keeping 25 or 30 and probably threw back 10-15.

Not as good as some of the posts I've read about here. But, it was quality time on what appeared to be a quality lake. Really dark and few reference points to guide you, so I'm glad I "followed" an experienced boat as we were returning.

Water was really calm and it appeared that they were not drawing any water at all from the lake last night, or if they were, very little. Kind of suprising with Dennis approaching.

I have never fished Oconee, but I enjoy reading all the post. A friend of mine's dad has a lake lot down there some where and we talk about going a fishing it from time to time. They haven't been there in over 5 years. It would be a long drive for us, but if we could setup camp on his lake lot for a weekend, it might be worth it. Nice report.
    LET IT RIP!
