    Default 10 in. limit

Any thoughts on a 10 in. limit on GA. lakes? It seems to work on lakes around us. Why wouldn't it work here? It would cut down on fish going home but wouldn't be worth it in long run? Just wondering how ya'll think?

We did something similar back home in MS. We went ot 12inch cut limit to 20(was 30) and cut down on poles and # hooks per pole and it is showing good results. We did this on the 4 major Corp of Engineer lakes so it really wasnt up to us fishermen of the state but after seeing results, I dont know many people against it now

I agree with you Budman. I do feel that the 10in limit would be best for most lakes. Just look at the results in Florida.

I would love a ten inch limit on sinclair. Because it is almost impossible to catch a 1o incher trolling a sinclair. SOmething needs to happen...

Well I think it serves to protect the populations and also cuts way down on over harvest by those who would take everything they catch. It works here, I have seen stringers of big crappie come out of one lake. Is a 10 fish limit so 10 fish under 10" wouldn't be much of a meal anyway.
I love taking my kids fishing, now if I could just manage to fish at the same time.

sign me up for the 10"limit. I see so many people keeping 6 7 inch fish. Makes me kinda sick. Maybe we could start a drive to lobby the gov. to make the 10" a reality.

Want to know how it works here:
Get together a comprehensive and very explicit proposal and submit to the DFW. Regulations gets passed that way here all the time, 3 of mine have gone through that way. It doesn't hurt to have a bunch of other fishers in the area write to them and call and email them and basically pester then until they get the point.

I sent the DNR an email about this last year. Never heard back from them.

Smitty's right, we have enough members in the Ga. forum alone to start some kind of action committee. Maybe get them to look into a few lakes to start with.
