    Default Lake Lanier Shellcrackers

    Hey GA folks,

I live in Nashville, but my parents and my sister's family all live in Braselton, GA. I get down there fairly often to fish and squirrel hunt with my neice, Kenzie. She's 8 years old and is one bad woman with a fishing pole in her hand. I wanted to show off her first-ever shellcracker. I have also included a couple fishing "action shots" of us fishing.

I didn't pull my boat down there so we had to do a little lookin to find a suitable spot on the bank. Thankfully I found a spot with all kinds of sunken trees as you can see in the picture. I could not have created a better fishing spot and could have not asked for a better afternoon to spend with my mom and niece doing a little bank fishing.

On a side note, I included a picture of my brand spankin new BowTech Guardian. The picture is of me getting a lesson on how to shoot it from Kenzie.

Anyway, just wanted to say howdy.

    db,

I am not sure of the name of the place I was, but I got to it from Dawsonville Hwy, Hwy 53. If you are coming from Gainsville, follow Dawsonville Hwy from Gainsville, you will cross one bridge, keep going on Dawsonville Hwy and right before you cross a second bridge there will be a boat ramp to your left. We parked near the ramp and walked down. There were a lot of good sloughs back in there behind the ramp.

thats on the side of little hall park, between the park and the bridge. Caution in that area, thats where I was mugged at, there is another area like that inside the park. just take the first left when you go in and its on your right.

No kidding!?!? Is it a safe place to take my niece again? Were you mugged at day or night?

Yes, Little Hall is it. I couldn't think of the name earlier.

it was in the day not 20 feet from the road but not visible to the road, The stomped me,and tied me up and left me. its not the only incident I have heard of right there, they can drive by and see your car and know your down there and its a quick gettaway for em. I havent heard of problems in the park but that little turn off is not a safe place. not trying to scare you away but just letting you know fishing aint always safe.

Wow, I am very sorry that happened to you. I hope you recovered well and have found a new, safer place to fish. Thank you very much for telling me about that. I'll pick another place next time. It blows my mind that we have to watch for these kinds of things these days.

It just plain sucks you even have to worry about this sort of crap! What the?
Crappieday, glad you're still around and no worse off and thanks for the warning.
Black Crow, glad you and your neice had a good time.
