I searched the web with no results. Maybe you can find a reputable fab shop that does quality work and specializes in aluminum.
Anyone know of someone who will work on an aluminum boat to replace the transome?
I have a Fisher SV-16 GT that will need the corners and spray tray cut out and rewelded back in, something that is way beyond my capability. My plan is to spend the money up front and replace the wood in the transom with coosa board so I won't have to redo it any time soon. I'd be willing to drive into Florida or Alabama if there's no one in Georgia that could do it.
Thanks in advance.

A fab shop should be able to handle it

A fab shop didn't even come to mind...thank you both. I'll have to do some searching and see what I can find.
That is the beauty of an aluminum boat

You may get it repaired at Travco in Elberton, GA. They have done some work for a friend of mine and he was pleased. It seems there’s a different boat sitting there every time I go by ………?

My apologies for not replying sooner. Work has me running like crazy. It really is a great boat and once I get the transom done, there's not much else to fix, only upgrades. Waiting for some shops up in Macon to respond if they want to do the work. If they don't want it, I may take the drive to Elberton if he's got time.

Just wanted to do a follow-up if anyone else is looking to fix a transom on a 1988 SV-16...just got mine back from the shop.
The dimensions are roughly 69 1/2 long by 12 3/4 tall and the thickness is 5/8" thick. They had to cut the welds on the top cap to gain access to the transom, well beyond my capability. I had them install coosa board so I won't have to deal with it in the future. Hardest part was finding the coosa board locally...I drove 4 hours, one way to get it because shipping was ridiculous for a 4x8 sheet.

You can also do a search for Tig welders in Ga.
