Hit the water at first light and was casting out lines shortly afterwards. Only had a few lines out longlining before rods were bouncing. Was a good morning of fishing with limited boats for a Saturday. I met several boats headed to Lake Russell so I assume that was where most of the bass guys went. And I only saw 1 jet ski and that was about the time I was finishing up for the day. Water temp began the day at 74* and the air temp started at 60*. Was cloudy and no wind blowing so it was a very comfortable morning out on the water.

Fish of all sizes bit. Anywhere from tater chips to some good quality fish up to the 15" range...

I know it's always good to see those small fish knowing the future of the lake is strong but with alot of lines out they can become so REAL pests, especially when lines gets tangled. Ha!

I almost always eat fish on-the-bone although everybody else in the family loves the fillets so whenever it presents itself I manage to keep me a couple messes of 9" fish to clean in the rock-it fish basket. Today was no different so I kept me a couple messes to eat on-the-bone not including the ones that were in the 'well to fillet...

The bite was GREAT from daylight until 10AM and it slowed drastically. In the whole next hour I boated 6 fish with most of them being throwbacks. At 11AM the sun finally popped out and since I dont like sweating in the boat I decided to reel 'em in, clean my bone-in fish and head to the house. Now I'm already looking forwards for another windless morning so I can hit 'em again before it gets too hot to enjoy myself. Final tally caught were 62 fish keeping 22 for the house.
