    Default LAKE OCONEE 10/4/22

I fished Lake Oconee today from 8:30 until 5:30. I kept 12 good fish 11 inches or better. The water was 72 when I started and 74 when I finished. I used Livescope and fished the timber south of the 44 bridge. The bad news is that the fish are still in the timber. The good news is they are only down 10-15 feet and looking up. The fish also seem to be getting thicker. I caught a few on the hair jigs in the picture below. I have never fished hair jigs before but will do more experimenting with them in the future.

Great Report Hotwater and thanks for sharing. I’m actually glad to know they’re still in the timber since it’s my favorite method. God willing, I’ll be there Friday morning chasing the thump.
Not trying to hijack your post, but is there a recommended ramp for the east arm of the lake? I usually drop at sugar or long shoals and would love to learn the other side without riding the boat forever. Thanks for any input and congrats on your success.

Old Salem boat ramp is now open year round. It's located just off Linger Longer Road. From there you have easy access to what I call mid lake which is from 44 bridge to Lick Creek and to the timber located out in front of the cove that Linger Longer Marina is on. Good luck Friday!

Need to add this, Armour Bridge and some of the other Lake Oconee boat ramps you need to pay online or buy a year round pass. Here is a webpage for Georgia Power boat ramps that you can pay by credit/debit online. Amrour Bridge is one of them. Georgia Power GP Reservations - / Facility Search Results

Thanks for the update and even better news. I carry passes already for the Ga Power n COE lakes since I go a lot. I’m assuming to just show the pass at the guard shack going to Armour Bridge and they’ll let you in?

the guard writes down your license plate number and that's it. They don't have anything to do with the money anymore
