    Default West Point Crappie 7-1-22

Well I started the morning searching for the stripers on the southern end of the lake but when you run across a nice group of crappies In the trees, You just gotta stop and cast. What a fun morning putting some nice eaters in the boat. They averaged from 1/2lb fish to a couple that were 1lb. The fish was In 30fow and tight to the cover. They would chase the jig but it was a subtle bite. Most times, you didn’t feel the thump but just a little resistance on the line. The favorite color was the Bobby Garland Baby Shad in Threadfin color attached to a eyehole jig. When it got hot, they shut off completely. Finished the morning with 20 crappie, three nice kittykats and two spots. The fish are stacked up in the creek/ditchchannels so if you got decent electronics, you’ll see them.
