i stop due to heat and boat traffic not that you can`t catch them just have to find them hungry .
I visited my kids in Georgia last week and we camped and fished at Lake Lanier. Did not have much luck finding the crappie. I do not know where they are this time of the year there. Caught a few around 1 dock. Trolled crankbaits for miles, never caught a crappie, caught a lot of spotted bass. We found laydowns going from the bank out to 30+ water and could not catch any crappie off of them. Definitely different fishing than I am used to in Texas. Talked to 1 guy that said they were on deep brushpiles 40-60 ft. deep. He also talked like most people stopped fishing for crappie after the spawn there. Anyway had a great time with the kids and grandkid.

Glad you had the kids/grandchildren to keep you busy.
The fish don’t always treat us very well.

Clear water lakes like lanier, can be hard to pattern. If you can find some stained water you can improve your odds.

use high vis line and watch it closely it could be just a side movement or a twitch or slack line.

Lanier is definitely different than most lakes. If you would’ve picked ANY other Lake, you would’ve caught a few. Lanier is deep and clear. Not the easiest Lake to fish for crappie. Deep is where you’ll find em now.
Fishing is like pizza.......Even when it's not that good, it's still pretty good!
