Anybody ever fished the Suwannee river down near Manatee State Park?

Branford fl. Is way below manatee.
Dad lives in Horseshoe Beach, has a house on the Suwannee in Branford, Fl. I have fished the lined red areas, never knew Manatee Springs was a State Park. Live and learn. Like I said there is some awesome bream fishing on the Suwanee...matter of fact Im down here bream fishing this weekend.

Dutch, have you fished for Specs down there? We leave the 23rd and are staying at a place called Treasure Camp near Chiefland. Mike Huff put us on this place. Mike guides out of Ga Boys and he is from Macon.
Danbo, I have fished that area called Fowler Bluff. There is good food at that restaurant. I go down from Thomasville and fish with my brother who lives in Suwannee, Fl., where the Suwannee River flowers into the Gulf. We have put in at Yellow Jacket camp grounds, which is up River on north side of River from Fowler Bluff, and fished for red bellies down River to Fowler Bluff. Good fishing. A suggestion, for a fresh water and salt water fishing trip would be to plan a trip to Suwannee and stay at Bill's Fish Camp. You can fish up the River for all kinds of panfish and fish out the mouth of the River for sand trout, speckled trout and redfish. Your stick steer red boat would work fine for both types of fishing. Bill's can set you up with a guide for saltwater fishing if you like. Good luck at Fowler Bluff area.
