    Default Jackson Report

Hit the lake around 10 am and the plan was to troll for the 1st time and see how all the new Homemade rod holders performed and to get a feel for how the boat trolled. It didnt take long to find out that the fish were not suspended over deep water like I though they would be. So I headed in to the brush piles and shallow water but the bite was still very lite. Water was clear in the Alcovy arm of the lake and a slight stain in the main lake. Water temp was 59 when I put in and 60.5 at 3pm when I took out. I shot docks for the last 30 mine and not a single bite. Talked to a few folks and was told the crappie just stopped biting for the last few days. The next couple weeks are going to be tough with all the temp changes. Think I will try Sinclair the next sunny day we get.

I did catch 6 fish and all were big males and were so tight to the structure it was hard to pull them out. I dont believe its over quiet yet but last year they were on the banks around the 10th and it was over by the 20th I was told. I was on vacation overseas with the family and missed it. The year before according to my logs it was the last week in March and the same the year before that. Full moon is the end of March and we should see another round of of fish come in.

Oh yea I don't think they are done and this cold snap and rain should hold them back, just surprised to not catch many females. Thanks for the report
