Because if the user chooses to post in the open forum that is their choice, not a moderator's choice. If they want to tell everybody to go to Lick creek because the crappie are on the bed and tell where exactly they caught them, again that is their choice to be open about their fishing. So it is not a moderator's choice, it is the poster's choice.
I know what you mean Dutch. The information you give is very useful and gives a leg up. Having the color and the water conditions is a great start to use in the area that the reader fishes. Catching crappie is just reading the weather and the water and you start where the weather and water temp tell you. Then find what color is best for that day and sometimes the type of jig matters big time. Sometimes things are weird and you have to go with your gut. Of course this is just from my experience and isn't worth much. Good luck fishing everybody.
Mostly why nobody has posted in there FOR LESS THAN A YEAR for the record Judge Dredd, is because a lot of the best fisherman are communicating information a different way. Dutch, Hotwater, Danbo ChuckyBoy, and the other experienced fisherman (please forgive me I can't remember all the good fisherman on here right now, LOL) that post here are still nice enough to post great reports and give information. When the Moderated Forum was voted on it was voted in by a large margin. A lot of those guys that voted are gone now.
Observation is everything. I watched a guy last year at Sinclair fish minnows 4-6 feet catching fish. I was running jigs below 12 feet and nothing. Changed to that depth and started having fun. Sunday at West Point, down image said 10-15 feet. 1/16 by itself was not enough. Added #5 led went down to 10 feet plus started having fun. Quicker to add lead than tie a double. If I am not catching fish in an hour or 2 I am moving or changing depth. Hybrids come in I move. Friday before last at Oconee caught fish. went 4 days later same place and struggled. I have learned 2 crucial things over the years, water temp and the running depth with correct weight are everything. Full moon helps too! 2 full moons in March as was January. I believe a lot of fish have spawned and pulled back. Adjust accordingly each trip. Second full moon should have an impact. Personal opinion, I HATE WIND!
