Great report!

When I went to bed Sunday night the weatherman was forecasting .25 inches of rain for Monday morning. Jim and I planned a trip on Monday based on that forecast. When I got up at 4:00 a.m. I found that the rain forecast had been upped to .75 inches. Jim and I texted back and forth and he opted to wait and fish another day (I did not blame him). Since I had everything ready I decided to go it alone and left the house around 7:45 a.m. The fish are already wet so it won't matter to them. I arrived at the lake around 9:00 a.m. The rain had all but stopped and the weather radar looked promising. I began trolling at 9:15. Striperking and I were the only two boats on the water at the time. I caught two keeper fish before I could get all my lines deployed. I had four fish in the live well in the first 30 minutes. Then the bite stopped. Around lunchtime the skies cleared and the sun started peeking through and the fish turned on. The fish kept me busy until after 2:00. By that time I had 19 good fish in the live well. My goal was to catch 20. I finally caught number 20 just after 4:00 and started rolling it up. When fishing alone I normally long line only but yesterday I pushed 5 rods out the front of the boat in addition to the 8 long lines. I only caught 3 on the pushing rods but all three were in the 13 inch range. My biggest fish was 14 inches. My long lines were rigged with 1/16 oz singles and 1/16 oz doubles. Most of the fish I caught were in 12-14 FOW. The long line jigs were running 6-10 feet deep. The dark colored jigs seem to work best but I also caught a couple of fish on an acid rain. Striperking had 20 fish at the end of the day and he long lined 8 rods. He said he beat me because I out "rodded" him. Hmmm?? He had pushing rods in his boat but he didn't use them. Therefore, I judge that we tied. Admit it guys. We all compete. We both had a good time.

Good report. We almost went to Oconee yesterday, but decided to stick to the original plan and fish Eufaula. Going to be at Oconee March 11th-17th.

Tuesday morning bite was Ok until the midday wind picked up and the bite knocked off. Only saw about 6 boats all day. Water temp was back to 65 but 66 midday when I left. Of the 20 we kept a good mix of male and female. Full moon is Friday but the wind will be up next couple of days. Grape has been my color along with the normal Blk/blu/chatr.
So at the end of the video...why did you throw the fish back in the water? Some were even floating in the live well earlier. Looked like you threw dead fish into the water?
Jay, what type camera are you using?
My GoPro Hero3 Black got wet Monday (forget to change the covers to the waterproof one) and is fried. The Hero3 Black has been discontinued and I am looking at a Hero3 Silver, but I am thinking of upgrading to newer model Hero4/Hero5.
Thanks

I threw the fish back because I caught them legally and I believe I have the right to decide whether or not I want to keep or release them. Originally I planned to keep them but changed my mind at the end of the day. Only one fish floated on the surface after it was released. I did not see any fish floating on the water afterwards. My question to you is do you think I would throw 20 dead fish back in the lake? My goodness, if I was going to do that I would not put it in a video. I eat what I kill.
