Sounds like a fun day!!! Do you have to worry about hitting under water timber while running down the lake?

No the lake is at full pool, the lake has full grown trees in it you can not see, I see you are from Virginia If you run it much you know where to look P.S most of the time.

[QUOTE=hobo;348093 Thanks for the reply. The main reason I asked is my wife and I bought a home near long shoals last June and will be retired next July and looking forward to start learning a new lake.

    Eatonton Ga?

If so.... you'll be sitting on one of the premier crappie lakes in Ga!

I know a kid that is WEARING THEM OUT right now on Oconee. (He keeps sending me video messages of 1+ # fish, some nearing 2# from under docks... all while I'm trying to get my boat rigged!)

Jim I have been putting in at long shoals, If you fish north form boat ramp you are ok but if you go down river you will see a big point on right side of lake when you get around point the trees start on left side of lake they are marked with buoys stay right of buoys are you can fish in trees, over time look at boat traffic and you will be ok
