    It's my step dads. He said he was trolling and it just stop and he smelt wires getting hot.

    Brushings if it's got some years on it. You'd be surprised how fast they stop working when they get old.

    my Minn Kota 24 volt did that and it was the plug where the power wires go together and i still have some issues with that not making contact going to put contact grease on it .
    retired and now i will always fish
