    Default Computers

This is probably not the place for this but does anybody out know someone in the Warner Robins area that will come to your house and work on your computer. Think it has a virus. Thanks.

If you are able to download Malwarebytes it will scan and remove viruses. Not sure if it is just for Mac or all computers. You can Google it and download for free.

best thing to do if you have a virus is to wipe everything out and start new... if you have the windows disc you can reinstalll a new fresh OP (operating program) Windows 7, etc. etc. it's not that hard to do.

There are internet forums where computer folks will walk you through fixing your problem. Running ccleaner, hitman pro and malwarebytes as above will usually handle virus problems. I always run avast and do a boot time scan occasionally on my laptop.

Call the company that makes your 'puter (their customer service). Sometimes they may walk you thru the process to restore your computer back to it's original settings. I screwed up my operating system by interrupting a process that was running and they walked me right thru resetting everything back to original for free since my computer was fairly new. Even if it is older it wouldn't hurt to check to see.

Slightly different issue, but does anyone here use a laptop or pad to update the software on their depth finder. I just discovered how outdated my software is for my Hummingbird(998) and all my electronics at home are MAC or Apple, which are not compatible. Does anyone have any input into what I need to purchase to be to able to upgrade?

Badbull, you'd probably be better off posting this on the electronics board. JMO...
