what did it look like
we used to fish with this lure back in the 70's and early 80's have not seen one in a long time. anyone know who made them.

The invisible lure always works on crappie. LOL.
yep that's it inline spinner with a small cricket or waterbug on the end. bream and small bass would tear it up
seams like i had one will look in my old tackle and see if i can find it . if i do i will take a picture of it and post .

IIRC , the "Thing" was an inline wire shaft spinner with a lead keel just behind the blade with a rubber legged spider on the bottom .. Gillchaser

I think I have one in my fly box. I can't remember the manufacturer. We used to exchange the bug with a hook and cricket. You could drift the river and kill the bream.
didn`t find the thing but found 2 meps with buck tail . i know i did have one some where will keep looking
