    Default Spring Fishing report

Size: 62.7 KBBeen a while since I've posted a report but here goes: Fishing has been the best Ive ever seen it in over 20yrs of fishing this area. Jan-Feb we were fishing fairly deep water over 20ft long lining heavy jigs (1/8) or double 1/16 in the mouths of major creeks on the hill. We stayed on those fish for a long time due to the down imaging on our rigs. If you don't have down imaging you are missing out. The fished moved shallow one weekend in Feb and I caught a 2lb8oz slab in about 12ft. Some fish were caught in 10ft that weekend. Those fish magically disappeared on us quick. We were averaging 1lb8oz fish in one of my favorite creeks. The warmer weather so far this spring is not what I would like but we went to a different lake because of the good fish we heard was biting. Boy that was a great decision. I caught 4 crappie that was over 3lbs and had 5 that was 2lb13oz to 15oz. Im getting 3 of those mounted. Sorry Im not mentioning any creek names or lakes but I will say it was in SC Most of you can figure that out pretty quick. I will say that all my big fish this year so far has came off Mr. Crappie Slabalious jigs, on two different lakes. This jig has changed the game for us on the hill. Im expecting the fish to be real shallow on the hill so I will probably switch to pushing out the front of my boat. My partner Soldierman and I fished a few tournaments and came in 4th in the Crappie USA super event on the hill. We came back from 7th place on day one to 4th, caught our biggest fish the last 45min of tournament. There was a boat that was watching us that day and I would like to say thank you to them for keeping distance from us. Thats why I like crappie fisherman, don't think that would have happen in bass fishing.
Sorry so long of a report and hopefully I will have time to post my next trip soon.
