    Default Lanier Dock Shooting 2-28-15

Ventured north from my home waters of West Point this past Saturday. Met up with a good buddy and we hit the docks of Lanier. We caught fish pretty steady all day. Even though the schools were large on the SI, you would catch 6-7 fish and they would shut off. We rotated around and would come back later a pick up a few more. The largest fish came off a somewhat shallow dock in a 3-4 degree warmer cove off the river. Most came on Big Bite 1.5 panfish minnows in a variety of colors (blue shiner and electric chicken being the best). Brought a limit back south with me for the fryer. Name: 1.jpg

Lanier is my home water! To cold lately even for a Yankee like me from Pittsburgh. I have southern bones in me now! Some nice slabs fo sho! Electric chicken has become a hot color lately! Seems like it's harder to get more than 10 at a time off of one dock. Changing color sometimes works, but more often than not it's better to give em a lil time and they will fire up again. Maybe it's because the water is so clear. The fish come up a bit and then see the boat and shutoff.
Fishing is like pizza.......Even when it's not that good, it's still pretty good!

Or it could be me shooting the dock instead of under the dock!
