    Default This time of year??

    Hey guys,

So I'll get the chance to fish Sinclair for a bit in about a week. I was wondering which tactic would be best for around this time of year? Shooting docks? or longlining? I'm rather inexperinced with both, but I'll have plenty of time to figure it out, but I just want to make sure that I'm giving myself the greatest chance to succeed.

Any jig/color suggestions and other tips for Sinclair for this time of year would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks!

I would try docks with a 1/32 oz. jighead, color that works for me is red/chart. basspro 1.5 Squirmin' Squirts or the Bobby Garland Baby Shad in just about any color.Docks with brush and if they have a pontoon boat in them work best for me. Good Luck.

Get u some Jiffy Jigs, Rag Fly, and Sugar Bugs in 1/24 and 1/16 for those docks. Any combo of chart, pink, black, red, white, and bright blues will get u started. Start light and then work deeper and heavier.

Same baits on brush in 10-20 FOW will be holding some gooduns as it warms up more too.

X2 on the pontoon boats. Just shoot it up between the motor and the boat and wait for that tap.

Thanks for all the info guys. I got to georgia only to find the boat Im using to have motor problems. But yesterday I finally had enough and took it out with just the trolling motor. I hit about 10 docks, and found one that was holding fish. I caught about 15 before I moved on because I didn't want to fish out the first spot I found.

That was the first time for me shooting docks and to be honest the first few fish I caught were almost accidents. But after a few more, I got used to looking for "thump" and it was an absolute blast.

Waiting to get my motor problems fixed is absolutely killing me now. But if I don't have it up an running by tomorrow evening, I'm cutting my losses and taking a kayak out!
