    Default Thursday pm @ Oconee.

Fished 4-dark. Caught 50 or so. Mostly on the small side. Kept 25 1#+/- fish. Only one crappie had any eggs in it. Had to cull quite a bit. Also caught 3 lm. 3 catfish, 4 whites, and 5 bream.

Excellent...I haven't been to Oconee in a while and probably won't be able to go for a while, but I was just curious!!

I have CrappieUSA Regional tournament coming up next weekend at Strom Thurmond, SC.....should be interesting....no pre-fishing, never been on the lake, neither has my partner....we are going up the morning of the tournament....should be really interesting!

It has been until Thursday. Last Sunday we kept 32, all over a #. Week before that we caught around 40 and most were over a #. About half of them had eggs still in them. Only 1 had any eggs in it yesterday.

were the eggs well formed, or did they look like they were starting to be reabsorbed by the females?

I'd say we are in post spawn now, know what you mean Gar' seems the eggs are shrinking in the few I caught lately, the bite hasn't been the same, or we aren't fishing in the "right" places at the moment, they always come back to places we catch them from though, I was busting these falls and snagged a crappie fry, went to bow of boat and observed, with some concentration, mind you, crappie fry mingling in the rush, I backed off and sure nuff, hybrid and largemouth bass starting tearing them up, was a day I wish I'd of brought the video cam. This is a honeyhole for hybrids and stripes, catch catfish and crappie here too, very cool waters. It's the powerhouse at the Eagle Phenix Mill on the Chattahoochee.

GaBoy.....You need to be in touch with Drill Instructor on what areas to hit @ Strom Thurmond aka Clarks Hill. That is unless he is fishing in that tourney also, in which case you better watch out, he is hot on the Hill........
