Would like to see some pictures of that big fish... Wonder if it was a female with eggs or a male.
A friend just called me saying he heard about a huge crappie being cought recently on Blackshear. It took me about 30min to get all the facts and I can say it is true. Bubba Smith from Cordele Georgia was fishing this Saturday afternoon and hung into this crappie tight lining jigs and minnows in 15 to 20 feet of water. Bubba told me that it has been weighed on certified scales and tips the scales at a whopping 3lbs 8.5ozs. The old record was 3.75lbs. By the way this was a black crappie.

Mine was larger---I just never tell anybody
CATCH FILLET
I'm sure it was a female, congrats to this young man, he just raised the bar for the rest of us big time.
I have yet to get all the details like female or male but as I said it is not a rumor cause he has gotten it certified. As soon as I get the pictures of this slab I will get it posted hopefully by Friday.
I hope they don't check its stomach and find pecans in there....congratulation to you Bubba!
Thats nice to hear ...congradulations bubba!
How many minnows do think has been pulled by that one without beeing caught
Blackshear has to be the best trophy lake in Georgia... any of you that have not fished this lake are missing out.... go there a soon as you can to catch some of these monsters....
