What Kind Of Line Do You All Use?
mr crappie hi vis 4 lb and change often.
living life to its fullest, This is not a dressed rehearsal.
I use the same as trashtrout Mr. Crappie 4lb. I like just about any 4 lb such as stren and trilene. I can just see the Mr. Crappie HI VIS better.
I use 4 lb Flor. Green P-Line. It is a very good line and I can see it jump when the crappie hit it. What ever you use you have to be able to see the line jump when a crappie hits it.
Clear 4lb Berkley Sensation. Super small diameter but for the size it is extremely strong. The small diameter will really allow you to shoot ya jigs a long long way.
i use the same as trashtrout and earl,,mr crappie hi vis 4lb.
i wished mr crappie would make a 2 lb hi vis. i like 2 lb better but i get mr crappie 4 lb cheaper.
Got crappie?:D
I believe that Mr. Crappie line tends to be a little larger diameter than other lines.....4 lb. is probably equal to others in 6 lb. I can't be sure though.......but I do prefer Stren Gold in 6 lb. This line is easy for my old eyes to see and you can drag out about anything you hook, especially with a good drag.
Well, it is mighty risky and you can't horse them out from under the docks, but I always start with 2 lb. Trilene. If I start getting break offs, I go to 4 lbs. Trilene.
I use 6lb Green P-line. Works well for me. Also use round head 1/24th jig.
I use 6 lb. clear easy cast in super clear water, 6 lb. Mr. Crappie hi-vis, or 6 lb. Cabela's hi-vis most of the time. I have noticed thru the years that the weight of the 6 lb. line allows the shot to go a little farther. This may just be in my mind, but it at least makes me feel better about the shot.
The 6 lb. line also allows the jig to fall a little slower and helps trigger a few more bits when the fish are a little timid.
