ASHBURN, GA (WALB) – Turner County Investigator Steve Mauldin confirms that Michael Dewayne Farmer, who has been at the center of concern from family and friends in Turner County, has been located safely in Detroit, Michigan.
The Sheriff's Office issued an alert for Farmer after he hadn't been seen by friends or family for a couple of days.
Mauldin says that Detroit police tell him that farmer is saying that he was forced to drive to Michigan.
We will have more information on the story when it is available.

praise God praise God praise God. just getting home and wanting to tell crappie.com people thank you so much for the prayers that was offered up on his behalf. there are no way i could put in words the way i am feeling now so i want even try. i do thank you but most of all I thank My Lord and Savior. I have talked to Dewayne(there wasnt many words said verbal but a lot of tears spoken loudly). He is pretty shaken up of course and will need a lot of help in the coming days. We expect him home as early as tomorrow afternoon. what a celebration that will be!!

Poor guy was on his way to work the other day, he's a nurse.
Picked up a stranded person walking with a gas can... and was car jacked all the way to Detroit, Mich. before he escaped and contacted police.
He's on a airplane on his way back to Georgia.
I guess his auto is still missing.
I feel bad for stranded motorist or hitch hikers.. but this is why I won't stop.
If I see a broke down vehicle... I will call Georgia State Patrol for them... but I will not stop.
This is why.
We almost lost one of our own... and it's scary.
His family knew "just disappearing" was not in this young mans character. They were very persistent... and thank the lord, it paid off.
He's very lucky he's alive.
Prayer works wonders.
glad to help anyway we can.
