    Default Lanier 3/07/10

Took both my kids fishing at Lanier today. The spot I've been fishing was getting crowded so I tried another area. We caught 30 from 11:00 till 3:30. Not too bad, but it wasn't enough to keep my daughter interested. She did end up with the big fish of the day. Fish were holding between 10 and 14 feet deep. They're just waiting to hit the shallows.

He caught 31. When I left, he went back to the back where the crowd was. He said the bite wasn't any better, but the fish had just a little more size to them. He also said there was only 1 other boat back there by the time he got there. When I was leaving, I saw 6 other boats shooting docks. I guess Lanier is becoming a hot spot for crappie fishing.

Score, now she's just too cute! I'd take her fishing anytime she wanted to go. They do grow up too fast. My baby turns 21 the end of this month.:o

Keith, I feel the same way. For years my daughter played fastpitch softball throughout all her youth years and her first two years of college so my fishing was very very limited on just the weekends she didnt play games and I worked week days. Now that the plant has closed and she's thru with ball I'm finding myself on the water anytime I want to go...and right now that's ALOT. Dont get me wrong, I really enjoyed those years watching her play but now I'm back doing what I did during all my younger years...except I'm doing it during the week when I have the lake almost to myself. I'm loving it right now too.:p

    Default Excellent!!!!

I love to see them little babies getting out on the water too...that is SOOOOO FABULOUS!!!! It definitely takes some patience, and you quickly learn that the fishing isn't all about you any longer...but, let me tell you in the same breath, that is some of the best fun a daddy can have!!
I won't be at work........I'm feelin' crappie today!
