    Default Question

Not ever fishing a tournament before where the fish have to be brought to the scales alive and kicking, I got to thinking. What do you all do to transport your fish from the boat to the scales? I have seen special bags used at bass tournaments, is that the best method? I just need to know so I can go buy something.

Yes Jim,that's the best way ,they sell a decent ones at Wally World or BPS. The Tourney bags are reinforced with a fabric ,so you won't get the ol bottom bust out. Also Jim if you start cullin fish it's best to get some sort of scale and color marking systems available on the market this keeps you from fumbling around trying figure out which fish to weigh in when it comes time.

    Default Transport Fish

I Asked The Same Question The First Time We Fished A Cusa Tourny
And The President Said That The Crappie Dont Do Well In The Bags
Somthing About Thier Slime; I Dont Know So He Said That Alot Of The Teams Use A Rolling Cooler So Thats What We Use Its Easy On The Fish; The Fish Are Supposed To Be Released After A Cusa Tourny. But A Five Gallon Bucket Will Work They Are Only In The Bucket For A Short Time.

I dont have a livewell in my tracker so we made a livewell out of a square 60qt cooler. $20 areator from the walmart and your all set. Most times I just put my fish on ice but I use it all the time when I'm going to shoot docks where you know you'll probably catch way over the limit and want to cull.

To carry fish to the weigh in I use a bag from bass pro. In the tourneys I've fished, the fish just have to be alive at the time you get in line so they will live for a couple mins in pretty much anything.

I do have a rolling cooler, so instead of spending money on a bag I will just use the cooler.

Another question... how do crappie hold up using the culling method of sticking a hook with a colored ball through their gills?
