Darn good point!!!!....The oil companies are so used to sticking it to us that I can't see them dropping the prices to a reasonable price for us average folks!!

The oil companies make $.08 on the gallon. It is govt. taxes (Federal, State, and Local) taxes keeping the price high. Simple Economics 101, supply and demand. Stop watching CNN (Clinton News Network) and do some independent research on this subject. They should now change the name to ONN (Obama News Network). Never trust a liberal to tell you the truth, they do not know how. If the demand is high in the USA, the oil companies will sell it here in the USA. When Carter made it impossible to drill in ANWR that started this problem. Now the liberal democrats in the House and Congress have made it impossible to get at the largest deposits of natural gas and oil in the entire world. Until America quits putting blame on the wrong people (oil companies, big industry) and starts blaming the House and Congress, no progress will ever be made. Do the research, make an informed accurate decision.

I believe you hit it square on the head, River Hawk. Between taxes and unrealistic restrictons on drilling and building refineries athe politicians have put us in a helluva bind.

I read a good article yesterday on humanevents. Oil production has remained flat since 2005, but demand has risen sharply. This guy said that the arabs know that the world is looking for alternative fuels as hard as they can go and that the arabs will start running out of oil in the next 20 years. The liberals in our own congress will not allow us to drill our own oil so now is the time to soak the world with high prices. The guy even quoted an old saying...You got to make hay while the sun is shining....The cubans, with the help of Communist China, will shortly start drilling off the coast of Florida, taking the oil that we should be drilling for. This is a fact. Until we get these liberal morons out of Congress, I'm afraid we are in deep doodoo!!

Saw a news story on CNN Headline News the other day. Don't care much for CNN but sure do like to look at Robin Mead. Anyway, they said a government study concluded that if drilling were allowed in ANWR, it would only reduce the price per barrel from between .41 cents and $1.41. They said based on that it is not worth going after that oil. Now keep in mind this was a government sanctioned study and we all know they always tell the American people the truth. I bet they did it under pressure from some tree hugger group.

I bet that was Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid's study. If we had started drilling in ANWAR ten years ago, we could supposedly be getting a million barrels a day from there. We only use 6 million barrels a day in the USA. I'm certainly no expert, but that study sounds kind of fishy.

I saw on the news the other day that an big Oil tycoon in Texas is buying up all the water rights he can. He made no bones about what he plans to do. I wish I could find the article.
    Birddog,

I pray that I may live to fish until my dying day. And when it comes to my last cast I then most humbly pray. When in the Lord's great landing net and peacefully asleep. That in His mercy I be judged, BIG ENOUGH TO KEEP.
