Thanks everyone for the well wishes. I can't wait to start on 8/20/12. I am having trouble sleeping. The WHAT IFS are keeping me awake. What if I don't still have it? What it they do not want my products? etc, etc. Sweet Thang tells me sleep good, you already got the job, that was the toughest part. I need this one to last me at least 10 years and 5 years with one company in pharmaceuticals is considered a life time. Got to relax and get back my confidence. I did not realize what a traumatic effect being unemployed had on my confidence. I still believe it will be like riding a horse once I am back in the saddle. Thanks everyboday!

Work habits do mean something and your friends recognized your ability and will power. You reap what you sow. You planted well and you were
tested and found deserving and worthy. Stay positive and assertive.

I made money anyway I could while being unemployed. I fell back on other skills I had: ornamental iron, welding, catering, etc. I did anything I could to survive while looking for another job. Photography is a wonderful skill. I know you have already thought of this, but here are a few ideas. Contact every church, every formal clothing (bridal / tuxedo) shop in several towns close to you and let them know you are available to do weddings and other parties. I had a friend that had a photographer shoot pictures while she played with her son at home. Think about it, a natural, secure environment where the kid felt perfectly normal. The pictures of her boy were amazing. Contact day care centers, elementary schools and let them know you shoot private session at the location the family chooses. You may have to lower your price, but you will more than make up for it in volume for being uniquely different. Also NETWORK! Let everyone you know that you need a job. Every job I every got was because a friend told me about it and helped me get it. Pass out thousands of business cards because they are cheap and the more people that know about you, the more jobs you will get. Alsa get on the web. Find specialized job boards that are for photography related jobs only. They my cost $30 bucks a month, but they are well worth the money. In this OBAMA economy, you have to make your own luck, because it is not going to get any better. You can not wait for opportunity to come to you, YOU HAVE TO FIND IT!!!!!!!!! I wish you the best of luck and I will be praying for you.

I agree with River Hawk. My daughter-in-law takes team and individual pictures for the local recreation dept. Get a mailing list and those grandmas will buy everyone you take. Also, run an ad in your local shopper for private family pictures or group events such as reunions.
