Welcome from Missouri.
Thanks, fellas. Retired from the Army back in '08 & after 26 years in NC, we retired for good in late '20 & moved back "home" to MO (I'm originally from KS & the missus from IL) & got us a nice place on a patch of St Clair county woods. Growing up on a working cattle farm & with no one to show me the way, I was limited to bobber fishing my grandfather's farm ponds for bullheads & running the occasional bank line for big cats with my grandfather. If I was lucky, one of my uncles would occasionally take me fishing for bluegill in a friend's pond. In fact, fishing off my aunt's dock on LOZ was the first time in my life that I caught a fish with a lure & that a 12" crappie. I'd never eaten crappie before & after catching a few more for supper that day, all I can say is that a lot more of them need to get in my belly. Fortunately, there are multiple launches on the Sac, Osage & Truman within 10 minutes of the house & with an uncle & an aunt living on LOZ, I can work on that situation.
We're also almost finished digging a nice 1/4 acre, spring fed pond in our SW pasture. Plan is for hybrid 'gills & shell crackers, with some yellow perch for some variety & smallies to keep 'em under control. We want a fun fishin' hole for our grandnieces & family gathering spot & it's shaping up rather nicely.
Other than that, I'm yer basic '70's/'80's juvenile delinquent that ran off to join the Army, become a paratrooper & see the world. I enjoy exploring the back roads on my motorsickle, revolvers in calibers beginning with a "4" & passing a mason jar 'round a fire with friends & family. Thanks for having me.
