Thanks guys. I’ve bass fished for fun and won checks in tourneys since ‘68. Never actually targeted crappie till recently. I retired myself from tournaments after winning AOY in ‘19 in my local club. I’ve really enjoyed chasing crappie the last few months though. It’s nice on this 70 year old body to sit down to fish for a change!.. lol I know next to nothing on crappie habits thru the year cycle. I hope to learn a lot here. I’ve already found my bass rods were too heavy even the lighter ones. I could often feel the hook tear loose. I e gotten a B&m Russ Bailey 8 and 10 1/2 rod and they are much better but now it’s cooled off and I’m not catching any over the wood in 14-16 ft anymore. I also ordered some crappie sauce I’ve seen mentioned a lot. We’ll try it out on the next batch we cook up. Everyone on here seems to like it! Got to figure if they’ve moved shallow or gone deeper. Thanks again for the welcomes and tight lines all
