I've been trying to find the best way to secure/wind a double jig rig onto the trolling rods so the hooks/jigs are secured enough to not get tangled easily. I've seen it done but don't recall how to do it. Any ideas?

Welcome and congrats on your first post. I struggled with several ways but found the best is to take off and re roll on pool noodle or pvc pice insulation tubing. I think lindy makes a rig carrier that is cylinder. However there are many others more experienced here that can give you great ideas.

Thank you those are good ideas for the end of the day. When I take the 8 rods up to run to another fishing spot then put them back out they typically get tangled when running. Just trying to see if there are any tricks to doing it without tangled lines.

I use Velcro cable straps to hold my hook to the rod when changing locations or putting my rods away after a trip. I don't have a boat right now so I use mostly 2 piece rods and the Velcro cable ties come in handy to cover the hook and to also hold the 2 rod pieces together. 50 pack from Amazon is $6.06! I saw a video where a guy took his, and hooked the bottom hook to the bottom of his rod, into the handle. Then held his line and spun his pole around until it was tight like a banjo string, then just tucked the line over one of the middle eyelets.
    Hope this helps!
    And welcome from northeast KY!

Thank you both. The double hook rig is my challenge I always seem to have one too loose. We’re going out today so I’ll be able to try hooking one first then turning the rod to tighten to secure the second hook. I’ll report back on that.
