Looking to learn and try something different. I hooked a crappie while fishing for white perch and found the taste right on par, maybe a little softer meat. I fish from primarily from a Wilderness Systems Commander 120 but when in the mood for a quick trip, an Old Town Dirigo 106 Angler.

Already looked up several waters within an hour or so of Old Town and will try them. Ice is still on the three lakes I want to try so it will be awhile.

Thanks for the welcomes. Been over the site and picked up a lot. Alas, I drove into Mud Pond and Pushaw Lake (neither listed as having Crappie) and there's plenty of ice left. I'm thinking another ten days unless we get a warm rain and some wind to start it buckling.
