Good morning to all you Crappie fisherman..I am Harry (IMHB) and I live in FAR NORTHERN CALIFORNIA.
My crappie fishing lake is Whiskeytown Lake, 10 miles west of Redding CA.
I fish out of a 19 foot aluminum boat with a 60hp 4 stroke Mercury with tiller drive.
My lake is VERY hard to fish because of the gin clear water, I can see a white jig at 20+ feet deep. It has grass on the bottom in the coves, that when I pull some of it up, it looks like the same thing that's in an aquarium, it's very healthy, very green and very thick.
This time of the year when the water skiiers are gone, I usually have the lake to myself, it's rare to see another Crappie fisherman. I am not allowed to use live minnows in Whiskeytown, so I pretty much use jigs and crappie nibbles and for the Bluegill I use little pieces of a redworm and crickets.. The lake also has world class Spotted Bass fishing, which I also do now and then. I joined Crappie.com so I can try to become a better Crappie fishing. My fishing partner is usually my wife, she loves to fish too. We have been fishing together now, for 56 years..and we both still get excited when we catch a nice one...

Good crappie fishing to all...

Harry
