Welcome from Mississippi.
Hello to all that make up this great site. I found it a few weeks ago and figured I shold join so I could be part of the site. i don't know how much I can contribute for I am not a diehard crappie fisherman but yes I have caught my share. fish mainly privite lakes and farm ponds that to me hold great potential for a lunker crappie or anything else for that matter. have caught my share of the 16 th 18 inch bad boys this way. Remember takind a buddy to one of my secret farm ponds for some great bass fishing. We were using minnows at the time and low and behold he drug in a crappie that was almost unidentifiable. It was plum huge. So huge and meaty that it had a big knot of meat on it's forhead. I have caught a few 2 pound bluegill like this but never seen a crappie like it. He was going to save it to have it mounted for it would go a good three pounds but his mom through it away. Always wish I had took a picture of it. I do once in a while get to go to Truman lake and fish. To me it is one of the greatest lakes in the US for fishing but I know that would be up for debate. you can find me at a riffle on some of the rivers around here as well looking for the scools of crappie comeing up stream to span. I never have a lack of places to fish, but I seem to just lack time to fish them. Happy fishing and tight lines.
