New from Cary, NC
Hello Fishermen,
I really like the structure of the website and content in the forums. I look forward to reading the forums. I caught my first gill at age 6 in SE Minnesota. I was hooked on fishing from that day forward and fished around SE MN for walleye, pike, LMB and crappie. I also had my own ice shack and ice fished during the winter months. In MN crAppie is pronounced crOppie.
I also lived in SE Florida and did all the fresh/saltwater fishing the state had to offer. I primarily fished in the everglades for LMB, specs at lake "O" and surf, pier and drift boat for saltwater action. The Keys was fantastic fishing! In FL crappie is referred to as speckled perch or specs for short name.
I’ve lived in Cary, NC now for 16 years and fish Jordan lake, beaver, bush, white oak, new hope creeks, Bond, Bass, Wheeler lakes. I fish for LMB, white bass, catfish and crappie. I attend auctions and estate sales and collect antique fishing lures and equipment. I also collect antiquarian 1890-1960 books and magazines on fishing. Also like to hike the woods and collect mushrooms. The morels will be popping up real soon! In NC we say crAp-pies.
Oh well, I've lived in 3 states and 3 different ways to pronounce CRAPPIE!
My goal for this year is to catch a 2 lb crappie during the day light hours, from shore on a artificial lure at Jordan Lake.
Good luck fishing everybody!
May the holes in your net be no larger than the fish in it. Irish Blessing.
