Wow that looked like a hand full............ Great pic thanx for sharing.....
Fished a shallow-water shoal in the Gulf of Mexico on July 1 with a good friend, Rick Grassett of the Snook Fin-Addict.
We had many shots.
I hooked up in early afternoon and landed a 110-pound after a 33-minute fight. The fish jumped eight times.
Used 12-weight, sinktip line, 25-pound fluoro leader and 80-pound fluoro shock tippet. Fly was a chartreuse Tarpon Toad.
Made about a 75-cast. Led the fish by about 20 feet and let fly sink. When the tarpon swam within a couple of feet, I twitched the fly a couple of times and the fish inhaled it.
Lots of tarpon on the shoals right now.

HAHA I love the look in the fish's eye in the second pic. He's lookin' at that guy like he's about to go ballistic.
"Mister, I love the way you wear that hat."
"You don't know nothin'."
Tarpon are such a beautiful fish. I've personally never caught one but when I was a pre-teen my dad caught several and I always thought of them as silver bullets (before Coors was even heard of in TX).
Thanks for sharing your experience with us.
