Sounds like it will be fun
On the advice of a fellow I know, I went and got me a new fly rod. Nothing spectacular, but a decient beginners rod just the same. Its a Martin 5-6 wt. came ready to fish. hoping to get out and use it soon. Oh yea, I almost forgot, it's an 8' rod.

The love for fishing is one of the best gifts you can pass alongJamesdean LIKED above post
It is fairly easy to learn. I mean I was able to do it fairly quickly. The bluegills love a foam spider. Keeping the little ones off it will really be your only issue. Well that and wanting to tie up some fly you saw on the internet. LOL
Maybe they will bite this one……Jamesdean LIKED above post
I think during the learning process, catching the little ones will keep me going. Knowing at least I can Ketch something, albeit small. Then work up from their to the larger ones. No on the subject of tying flies, that monster has already bit. Thankfully my jig materials can be used to some extent anyway, which lessens the burden on the wallet. In the beginning anyway. Thank you for reading, and the comment Micanopy

Flipping the bug wand is really enjoyable. I spent a few afternoons practicing in my backyard to get the feel of casting. Have fun Jamesdean.
