Very nice catch! Awesome colors on those gills, congrats. What fly are you using, I see the rubber legs.

Thanks, I was using a Accardo Brim Killer behind a popping bug. The brim killers are very hard to find now because I think they stopped making flies

Have not thought about using a bream killer behind a popper but tied a couple in size 12 and am going to try them in the next couple of weeks.

I found some in eBay. A guy in Texas ties them. Reasonable prices.

Can you post a pic of how you rig them behind a popper.

I need to head over to my grandparents on belle river and give that area a try.

Size: 74.8 KB it's hard to get both at the same time but I tie about a 1 1/2 foot of 6 lb test to a popping bug and put the bream killer on the end

So you tie it to the eye or the hook. Can't tell in the popper pick. That's a great idea for that brim killer. I have used those puff strike indicators. Never seems to cast like I want it.

I use to tie the leader to the popping bug hook , but I bought a weedless bug from Cabelas tha has some mono tied into the bug from the eye to the tail. I tied to the mono and it works pretty good
