    Default Mid march

I have two weeks in mid march off. Looking for potential places to go

I have a truck camper and a boat

I saw an add for Highland Park Fish camp. It looks nice it’s on Lake Woodruff but I have never been there

Also saw adds for At Ease campground on lake Seminole also it is a border lake would that need two states ?

I know it’s kind of late for crappies in Florida maybe. Getting a late start this year. Coming from Illinois trying to make most of trip and time off

Anyone have experience at those places or better suggestions

Might also consider Okeechobee or is it too late for crappie down there?

Crappie IMHO are just starting to bite. Some have eggs, tails torn. The temps have ben up and down, so as usual, they get confused. Yesterday was great fishing for us, today, not so much.

I've not stayed at any of those places, although if I'm not mistaken, I've launched at Highland Park Fish camp and on Lake Woodruff but it's been a while. Woodruff is a great lake. Best of luck, hope others will chime in that are better "in the know". Report back with pics if'n you get lucky.

You could do a lot worse than Highland Park. Even if the wind gets up there’s enough river to stay out of it some. Bluegill are good there too. YouTube has some folks posting about ‘Chobee and i don’t think they just quit down there. Pull right up in the weeds and start catchin fish.

I settled on lake Seminole for most of trip. The guy taking reservations seemed really nice. I may stop at lake Blackshear or Chicamauga on way down and Reelfoot or Rend lake on way home.
Next time if I get an earlier start I will head back To Okeechobee last trip there a couple years back had perfect January weather. The 1300 mile drive there in one day is exhausting as I get older

It will probably be too late for Okeechobee. Central Florida is your best bet. The weather has been a big issue so far this year. wind, rain, cold and then some more WIND! The weather hopefully will be settled down by mid March plus you are fishing ahead of the Full Moon. The Crappie spawn will be coming to an end for the most part but those female will be hungry. Also as Skeet mentioned, the Bluegill and Shellcracker should be starting up. So I think your timing is good.

I settled on Lake Seminole. Made reservations at At Ease Campground. People were nice in the phone prices good. Need owners at this place. Been hard getting camping reservations the last few years. A lot of people got campers recently. Ten years back when I got first camper never had issues getting sites
The ride should be shorter coming from northern Illinois probably post my results on Georgia page
