    Default Pulling cranks in April?

Was thinking of heading down to Harris Chain area in April with family. We want to pull cranks. Any recommendations on where to fish and stay? Any help would be appreciated

Best advise I can give you is look for other boats, and fish around them. Also, I have caught them on cranks down here, but our black crappie seem to prefer it when I pull double jigs. I think they like smaller baits, just my opinion though. Additionally, as of late the spider riggers with minners have been out fishing me, whereas in prior years, I would out do most of them long lining double jigs. Good luck, and please report back.

I also pulled my beloved cranks for miles upon miles with no results even close to what they gave me in TN. The black crappie mouths aren’t near as big which makes me think that smaller baits would do the trick. Wanna buy some small crankbaits? Didn’t work either. My best luck Has come from trolling 2” curl tails in contrasting colors which sometimes change from day to day. 1/32 to 1/8 are all used in different depth. The eighths work on short lines, seemingly almost under the boat and the others go long. They all stay busy so you just need to find out what suits how you do things. Hope you find some, chartreuse tails and dark bodies are always in my spread.
