When I spoke with CG1 last week she said she would be there with Crappie.com cake FYI.
Sorry to hear you won’t be with us Doug. Tell them guys to put a nickel in it, you got stuff to do!!
Looking forward to seeing everyone that’s able to make it. It’s November so I’m bringing chili pie and stuff.

another good day at the office !
I’m glad to say that things went very well. We ate real good and had desserts leftover to go home with whoever wanted them. Nino won big fish and got the rod that comes with that. CG1 brought the cake as she usually does and true to form, it was delicious. SlimJims sliders were tasty and tender, we couldn’t ask for better. Lobsterman (Les) and his wife Joan made sure everything was set up and that everyone had what they needed, Good Job You Two!!! Some nice raffle prizes were supplied by Crappie Addicts in Orange City and they were well received. Thanks to Slab for the goodies he brought including Linda who needed a ride. I believe a good time was had by everyone, even though most of us didn’t fish. Several folks made a good long drive to join in, making it that much better. We all sat around doing a kind of roll call for those that couldn’t be there and how good it would have been to see them. Come on springtime and our next gathering. I think I speak for everyone when I say thanks to everyone for their efforts and get well wishes to Jim and Paula, y’all get better soon.

Everything went well till my drive home!
I drove the jeep to the event as a test drive after my rebuild, but did not figure I was gonna have a problem with the boat trailer. On the way to drop off CG1 she asks me if I got a tire rubbing. And then after I take a turn, I got more than simple rubbing, I got a major vibration and a tire getting torn up. Doh
Had to drop the boat off in water right near Linda's house and go home to trade trailers. But it all ended well by the end of the day.
I thought it was the welds that gave way but it was the actual axle starting to split. I can't believe they just weld the hub to the axle like they do. They need to grab more meat IMHO, not just a small section of the top of the axle. Poor design.

Sorry about the boat trailer boss but you needed a new project anyway. Looks like y’all had a big time.
