Default Mature Buck at hog feeder

Size: 77.2 KBThis buck is considered a pretty good one for our area in North west central Florida. He has lived a good long life by either being smart or lucky. Our neighbors are not choosy and shoot most everything that walks. The woods in the background were clear cut about 14 months ago..The hogs do not come thru here like they used to but the deer like the new browse in the open clear cut.

Size: 76.9 KBDoes, fawns and 2 bucks in velvet. I have had the camera here for 8 days and no hogs have walked by..When I set the camera up last Sunday I saw fresh rooting 40 yards to left of the deer on edge of 6 year old planted pines and my trail. i have another ladder stand close to where i park truck, Got a real good buck there 1st day of Bow season last year. We only need 2 deer a year as long as I get 4 to 6 wild hogs. This year I may just take one Buck, I just don't eat as much as I used to... The wife prefers the wild hog burger I grind over the deer burger.

Have you ever added any of the pork to the venison?
I would assume that turkeys come to that feeder as well?

Yobuck, have not added any pork to the deer burger. I like to cook pork burger all the way done and deer burger medium. Most time we use deer burger for chili, hamburger helper or spaghetti. I used to add beef fat to deer burger but have not the last 12 years. I am looking at raising a few Wagyu cattle hopefully Japanese Brown and will use fat for deer burger and render some for other uses. I hope to buy full blood Wagyu but may end up with Wagyu bull and Angus cows for F1 beef.
