I’ve shot clays for a very long time and enjoy the social aspect of the dove shoots a lot. I’ve limited some and not limited more. They’re real good dressed and soaked in zesty Italian salad dressing, then dropped on the grill. Sharing a day in a dove field with friends makes me smile.

Size: 339.2 KBThis is the first buck I have seen this year that is shedding his velvet. He is only a 5 point..not a legal buck in our hunt club. Our rut and chasing starts in late August or first week of September. It's crazy in this area.. Soon after they shed velvet they start trailing and chasing does, Almost zero pre-rut activity. I live 50 miles SE and the bucks dont chase till the end of October. I have does on camera right now with fawns with faded spots and a couple that were bred later with smaller white spotted fawns. Last year on our place we saw a longer "Rut", we dont know what we are going to see this year.. I mowed this area last weekend, The deer and turkeys seem to like using the mowed trails.
