    Default Storm damage this afternoon..

I hope everyone is safe and dry. We had a lot of large hail and what looks like a micro burst in north Ocala. I have some damage from neighbors oak tree falling..on my boat shed and my old 1998 skiff.. not sure if it's a gonner..could not get to it. I was more concerned about my parents 2 miles away. Drove around a few trees and found them to be fine, but no power. They have 2 generators. Lightning killed a calf at the farm. The skiff is the boat my buddy gave me 5 years ago and I remodeled it from junk yard to brim machine. The tree fell to within 10 ft from where my wife was in the house. Going to snuggle up to her now and tell her how glad I am that she was not in the skiff.

Glad your family is safe. South Brevard county suffered some hail and wind damage also, I heard some areas over your way had some very large hail from those storms.

A large amount of rain fell here late yesterday but no hail.
Severe weather warnings for the afternoon today also.
We desperately need the rain here, but for sure without the wind and hail.

Thank for the kind words. We were hit hard but others have lost much more this year in the south from storms. Our house from what I can see only had a 12 inch roof edge damage.. Roof was new oct 2022. But the 198 skiff took a big hit.. it's got a huge oak on it. I can see the tongue is 4 inches from ground and trailer jack drove into ground..big limb on top of the trolling motor.. pretty sure I will lose 10 rods..I think the 1998 Honda ,90 will be ok but not the control box. Tree smashed the back of my 6x10 lawn mower / 4wheeler trailer...all can be replaced. I gonna start looking for another project boat..the skiff sat for 7 years under a tree before my friend gave it to me..took me about a year to get it on the water.

I doubt that there are prettier trees than the large live oaks, but after living with 3 very large ones in the yard ive concluded that they are much prettier when located in somebody else’s yard.

The 2 oaks that have fallen on my barn and boat shed the last year were both from my neighbors property. Our current place is in an old neighborhood. I only have 1 medium sized tree in my yard. My orange trees got greening disease 6 years ago and my shady dog woods also died. I do love big shady of oaks..when I am deer and hog hunting. Not so much next to my house anymore.
