Default Lake Apopka Hydrilla mgt Meeting 3-8-23

Just saw that there is a FWC Public meeting tonight about Hydrilla Management. This meeting is about Lake Apopka and likely surrounding lakes too. I went to one last year about Orange Lake and it was very well attended and Interesting. The meeting for Apopka will be at Tanner Hall, 29 West Garden Ave. Winter Garden

I live over an hour north of Apopka. I did not attend the meeting. I did attend one last year at Orange lake. It seemed most of the people attending wanted mechanical harvesting over spraying poisonous weed killer on and in the water.

Yeah that would be the best alternative. Just have to figure out how to turn the weeds into biofuel or fertilizer and have it be economically feasible. Someone gotta accept this challenge, please.

If I remember correctly.... there was a guy at the Orange Lake Meeting who owns several mech harvesters. I believe he later said he could mechanical harvest the 1000 to 1200 acre area 3 times for the same amount the spraying bid was.

WHAT, then why on Gods Green Earth did they not do it the mechanical way. Wow. I always heard it was too expensive! If not, then I'd surly like to know why.

The breed of carp that eat this stuff that do not reproduce is another good way they use in nissouri

And that's a great request. This has been going on for several years and when complaining they tell me it don't hurt eggs or fish. Bull
