    There really should be a way to plug it easily from the inside if something like that does happen.

    They do make a drain with a check ball in it. I can say for fact that it worked once. Had thrown out all the catfish jugs and was trolling amoung them when I dawned on me that I had left the plug out. I kept an eye on it and had not problems. A few runs of the bilge pump kept it dewatered just fine
