    Default Orange Lake Question

I went to Orange Lake this past Tuesday and didn't do that great. I trolled minnow tipped jigs from about 7:30-11:30am in 9-10 feet of water and didn't get a hit. Then I went to the pads down at the southeast end and got skunked there. I then motored all the way to the other end of the lake and hit the pads there in about 5' of water and from 1-1:30pm I caught 3 really nice ones. And that was it. When I cleaned them, the smaller one was a female with what appeared to be immature roe. The larger two were males. My question is have I missed the spawn or is the small female with immature roe a sign that the spawn is upcoming?
    Thanks.

I don't think you've missed it yet - especially if the eggs were immature/not ready to be laid. I haven't heard a whole lot about Orange yet this season from local scuttlebutt. I did fish out there on the last Sunday in January and ended up with 12. It was a slow day, and I had to move around to find them. I basically caught them all in one little spot at the very end of the day.
